Verge uses the scrypt algorithm. It’s a cryptocurrency that hopes to combine the best features of Bitcoin and Dogecoin, then add in the anonymity afforded by DASH. The block time is half a minute and Verge is verified using the Proof of Work concept.

Verge is intended to be a progressive coin, adding more security, and privacy. It’s an evolving crypto that’s backed by bitcoin, and has a wide array of developer resources and privacy tools.
